The Fredericksburg AARP Chapter is a non-government, non-partisan, non-profit organization. Membership is open to all National AARP members.
Our next meeting will be on TUESDAY, MAY 7, 2019 at 9:30am at Chancellor's Village.

Then you can join our Local Chapter.
To Serve, Not To Be Served.
In addition to monthly meetings with guest speakers and special events, our chapter participates in community service projects and supports other local non-profit organizations.

HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS
COOKING AT THE BRISBEN CENTER
Several times each year, the chapter purchases food and members gather at our local homeless shelter to cook and serve a meal.
MEALS FOR HOMELESS VETERANS
Chapter members work with our local Disabled American Veterans chapter to prepare and serve breakfast to homeless veterans.
ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE
Every September, we work with Giant Food Stores to collect food donations for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. Our 2019 drive is scheduled for September 13-15 & September 21.
SOUP FOR SENIORS
During the winter months, our members contribute soup and crackers. We give donations to the Seniors Visitors Program for distribution to seniors in need during the colder months.
WORKING AT THE FOOD BANK
Several times each year, our volunteers go to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank to help with food box packing.
DONATIONS TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS
Periodically, we contribute funds raised at special fundraising events to local community organizations working to solve issues relating to seniors.
What age defines a person as a senior? We have seen it as anywhere between 50 & 70. Through our contributions and volunteering, we think our chapter works to support people of all ages.
SENIOR VISITOR PROGRAM
We have a close working relationship with our local program. We volunteer at their events and contribute goods and funds toward their initiatives. We promote their activities and we are a sponsor for their annual picnic and Holiday Luncheon. In addition, we encourage our members to join the program, as volunteers and as recipients of services.
THE HOLIDAY PROJECT
We work with the local area representative to organize holiday visits to residents at Carriage Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center. We bring small gifts and needed attention and companionship to people who often have few other visitors.
